My friend Jenny King has been VERY busy designing a fantastic book of crochet designs using Noro brand yarns! In case you're unfamiliar with Noro it's that amazing yarn from Japan that changes colors in the most unexpected way! You can be going along, minding your own business crocheting with browns, green, blue, then BAM fuschia comes out of the skein without warning.

What impressed me the most is that Jenny was able to take yarn that changes color and come up with designs that not only look good, but look good in multi-colors.
That is so much harder than you would think.
Her designs skills are top notch, and are showcased in 17 garments and accessories. The book also has clear illustrations and a metric conversion chart. I really love the photography too; Annies did such a great job capturing the beauty and richness of the Noro colors. Nicely done.

OOO, lovely! Book AND yarn! I love working with their purple/red combos. Surprisingly, I bought some on sale that had everything from aqua to bright pink, black to orange, and I thought it might be strange but by the time I finished the shawl I made with it, it became a showpiece! Everyone loves it. That's the magic of the Noro! I'm always looking for new ways to hook it up.

My favorite color is lavender, so anything with lavender in it is for me. I made a blanket with lavender, pink and white and it came out beautiful. I have been crocheting for 50 years and even though it wreaks havoc on my hands (due to arthritis) I continue to enjoy it. I am right now making doll clothes for my granddaughter for Christmas. The first scarf I made was mustard color and dark purple and I still think those combinations are really good together. Then bright orange and gray can look really amazing. I think I like strong colors mixed together rather than pastels...a real pop factor in the contrast is nice.

I love purple/green/blue together, maybe with a bit of yellow or orange to give it a little kick. Really though, I'm fascinated by how colors change each other - make a Noro Striped Scarf with one yarn that's bright red/yellow/orange, and the other is neutrals, and BAM, you've muted the bright colors to something that won't hurt your eyes & is more wearable. Or pink/purple with green/yellow - you can't believe it would work, but I've got a chevron scarf that says otherwise! Really, I could do this ALL DAY LONG.

Oooh - the front cover of this book has me hooked! I would love to win a copy of this book. I have not used noro yarn yet not sure of the color ways, but I like blues, purples and greens. It is also good to get out of your comfort zone any color combo will be fine thanks for sharing the book and yarn.

Right now I like lime green and hot pink together. I'm making an afghan for my daugher to use up a lot of old yarn I have and I'm using lime green as the main color, but it looks really good with some hot pink I'm using with it. I also like blues and yellows together.

It depends on whether I'm making something for myself or for someone else. I usually find neutral colors to complement my attire better, like tan, browns, earthy greens, etc. I LOVE making anything with pinks and yellows though! I love the way pink and yellow look together and they're just so fun and happy! After Christmas (I have a lot of projects right now), I may even make myself something with a lot of color. I'll make it work!

Oh,I love number #241 in the Noro (used in the Aztec shawl), but if we are talking general colour combinations I am quite the fan of pink and grey/silver at the moment.
