Let's Get This Party Started

I thought I would kick off 2009 with a free pattern!  A few weeks ago I did an interview with Jennifer (of Craftsanity fame) who writes for the Grand Rapids Press in Michigan.  I also gave her a pattern that she could post as a free download called "Cafe Couture".  So, for those of you who don't read the GR Press, here ya go:

Cafe Couture
Cafe Couture by The Crochet Dude

You know, if you’re going to spend that much time at a fancy coffee house (and pay that much money for java) then you may as well look good at the same time. These ribbed coffee cup sleeves are designed to replace the brown cardboard ones that they give to protect your fingers from the heat; and just think how many post-consumer recycled trees you’ll be saving! Who knew being green could look so cool?

Drew thanks for the interview and the pattern. I had emailed Jennifer about a previous post and mentioned to her your new book and possible she could interview you. She did!
I'm from Michigan and just arrived in Texas last friday for the winter. I'm down by Rockport. Love it here, even though today is a little cool.

Cool beans (no pun intended), now I have another choice for crocheting a coffee cup cozy I might, however, look for an ombre yarn just to see the color mix

Love it! I really like the choice in yarn color - from coffee straight to coffee light and sweet.
    Thanks.

Thanks! This is great. I think I need to make at least 3 - so I can lose one in my purse, lose one in my car, leave one in the coffee shop by accident. . .

This would make a great quick gift.

Oh man, that is sweet. Don't need to download it, simple enough by sight. Strangely I just finished a bottom up crochet ribbed beanie. Hey, what great manly matched gift! Protection from the heat and from the cold, color coordinated! My hubby wouldn't be caught dead in anything matching. Not even this idea. He won't even use a travel mug! I make him nothing. It is too hard. Very picky. Very. Some day I will come up with something he might like. Someday. Y'all wish me luck on that one. Ha! LOL

    Have a great day, everyone.

Ok, so I have never been much of a crochet nut but my wife loves it and has tried endlessly to get me to participate. I have always told her, "When you want to play guitar with me, I'll crochet with you!"

However, this piece has changed my position. You see, I'm also a coffee fanatic. I order coffee from all over the world and consider myself a bit of a connoisseur. As such, this piece is a new requirement. I must have it! Thank you so much for the post! Incidentally, I used to live in Grand Rapids, MI!

Good idea. Coffee drinkers like me will enjoy a lot in drinking coffee because we know that we could hold our coffee conveniently without worrying about the heat at the same time its environment friendly.
