The photo waiting in my inbox this morning

This is my awesome editor.  He is reading a book.*   His name is Terry.  He knows I won't sleep until I get my paws on that book.  He promised to ship me a copy.  Ship Terry ship!!

Git yer own by clicking over there on the left. Oh and the publicist has promised me jpgs of the projects so that I can start giving previews! Woo hoo!

* I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the book isn't printed backwards even though it appears that Terry is reading so.

Sweater Shipped - vacation imminent

I shipped the Turnberry variation yesterday and it should arrive on time.  Whew!  I really feel like I need a vacation soon! I know that many are taking "staycations" where they don't leave home to save money.  But when one has his studio in one's office one can't even conceive of a staycation because it would very quickly become a stayworkation.  I'm just saying is all.

She Likes It

Apparently Chandler likes the book - here she is sleeping on the sweaters:

Congratulations! on both wins! And the Gold Medal goes to "The Dude"!!

The Book looks awwwsome. It's nice and fat. A good sign.

Does Chandler usually color coordinate her wardrobe so well. The sweater in the forefront is just so her! Did she inspire that creation?

The sweaters, on closer inspect, look knitted. Are they? If those, in the pic, are crocheted they are looking very soft and fluffy just like with knitting. Very cool. I usually don't buy pattern books but I believe I may NEED this 'un!

Drew, your own book in publication is a super accomplishment. A feather in your toboggan as they say. May many more great things follow! And take that darn vacation away from that there workstaytion.

ps. If that book is printed backwards, well jeesh, your just gonna have to pitch a fit!

    Kidding, kidding!

It may be that the picture is printed backwards, although there's nothing wrong with a book printed for lefties.

And why oh why is this being published so late in the year when those of us who start our Christmas gift craft projects in summer are scrabbling for ideas?

Cate, please don't laugh but the book doesn't look backwards to me. Not kidding!

I agree with you about how late in the year Drew's book is coming out. Darn! Tell ya what, though. That can be your Christmas present! Let someone get you something sweet. I also make knit and crochet goodies for family and friends. Can get over whelming sometimes.

If I may speak out for our fellow lefty fiber enthusiasts, they also want and need a fair and equal opportunity to enjoy the love of yarn. I have come across many fiber police who try to "get" left handed folks to conform to the status quo. Its soooo not necessary. I'm just saying.

But guys, that book doesn't look backwards, does it? Hmm, Drew must be feeling a little spun around by his newest glory! Can't really blame the guy.

You all have a nice day.

        Hey Pam,

Great idea to ask for the book for Christmas.

So far, no one has tried to get me to crochet right-handed. Frankly, crocheting left-handed makes more sense anyway since it's left to right, the way we read.

Fortunately, there are a lot of resources out there for the lefties among us. Even the CGOA has pages on their site for lefties. So if they say it's okay to crochet south-paw'd, then it must be, eh?

          Straight Up!

Yeah, it's usually knitting that the "police" like to control. I use both my hands for knitting. I like to knit backwards so I can skip big chunks of purling! (true lefty aka mirror image knitting) I also practice left hand crochet so I can teach both lefties and righties. I feel very strongly about this. I am right handed though a bit ambidextrous. My hubby is a south paw and so is a good crochet buddy of mine who is trying to get her knitting down. For me it's all about the flow of movement. Everyone has a different way and that what's most important.

I shall now step down from my soap box!!

You all have a good day!

I looked back through some of the posts and, ohhh gush, Drew wrote me back! Well, yes, he did write everyone else to, but, gollygeewiz, its a first timer for me!

Seriously though he seems very nice AND very busy!

I enjoy "The Crochet Dude" blog the most of any others. He is both funny and quick which is very important to me. I lose interest far to quickly!

Enjoy the last few weeks of warm weather you all. It's gonna cool off soon! Knit and Crochet season is upon us!

    Everyone have a good day,

Dear Drew: I already pre-ordered your
book on Amazon. I am the one on the
CrochetPartners chat list who is always
complaining that there are no decent
crochet patterns for men! BTW, I recently moved to a new apartment and seem to have lost the magazine which
had that large, round rug which you
designed (The one with the red color in the center and greenish surrounding
rows). Do you have it anyplace online?
Again, MAZAL TOV on your book and
    have a good vacation.

PS: Maybe you could pay us a visit in order to promote crochet in Israel.
We have a ChickswithSticks group in my
town and I know there is a similar group in Jerusalem. I am a quilter but I started to crochet again because I couldn't find anyone in my area who quilts. SJS

While I was on your blog, I am a regular
visitor, I was going through some of your listings for places you visit online. Did you know that "DudeHelp" has alot of pornography? I don't think it belongs in a crochet site. I'm not
prudish, but as a religious Jewish woman,I find this offensive.
Perhaps you would consider coming to
Israel to promote crochet. I go to a
