Michael Phelps aint got nothin' on me!

I am on the verge of finishing this sweater finally!  Woo hoo!  I feel like I'm the favorite to win a gold medal because, dear friends, I am finishing this project in time that I won't have to overnight it!!  Shipping it to the publisher also means that I get a few days off (which of course also means that I get to do housework for a few days too).  But there is something refreshing to the creativity-side to take a few days to just chill, to just do the things that are 'routine'.  Here is the sweater on the blocking board:

Dark Knight - Sunny Flower

I was scurrying to get on the road to go see the new Batman movie at the Imax theater outside of Houston and as I passed through the kitchen I noticed the sun streaming through the window and lighting up the sunflowers that I brought home the other day.  Not one to pass up such opportunities, I grabbed by trusty point-n-shoot and fired off a few shots.  Here is my favorite:

Your sunflowers have an inner glow! (grin) Very pretty.

I love that young cutie Christian Bale. Very intense actor. I personally believe that Michael Keaton is THE best of the Batman men. Mr. Bale has, in my humble opine, become his equal. I really want to see the newest installment and Imax would be too cool! Have fun!

Your gorgeous, "on the board sweater" is very lacy. Is that also a Turnberry? And didn't you know Gold Medals are given out to Super Crocheters!? Yes, this is true. Or at least it should be! Well, I gotta admit the truth, I do not block and yes I am ashamed! But I like that springy unblocked feel!

I listened to your interview with Craftsanity and was very moved by how you are inspired by your mom. I, a mom of 6 kids and having gobs of grand kiddies, enjoyed hearing of a son draw so much goodness from his family. Something like your experience really helps us moms to hang in there! Thanks for sharing that.

ps. Oh ho ho, you GET to do housework. I will not mention how I hate that word......ugg. :0|

    Have a good evening,

Oh, Dave, that is funny. But truth be told I can not imagine the Dude doing something like that.

      Or can I!

      Sorry! I could not resist.

      Am I banned?

My husband is asking what does everyone have against speedos? He only has about 30 in his collection. He says he bought out 2 stores when he found out they were no longer being manufactured.

    Dear Dude,

I was crawling the net last night and found a crazy site. Goggle "Amazing Needle". Check out the links of the first 2 or 3 pages. It's a crochet hook with a hole on the end to thread a cord through. The cord holds the loops so you can do the stitches. What this accomplishes is the ability to knit and purl with a crochet hook! Don't know if you'd want to fool with such a gizmo but I thought I'd pass it on. The why it's crazy for me is I've been working on doing Tunisian in the round. Last week I was wandering around the house thinking, "now how am I gonna put a string on my hook?" After viewing the Amazing Needle I tied a piece of linen on one end of a double ended cro-hook. Works great. Those cro-hooks with a nylon cord in the middle are it too stiff for small projects.

Drew, can you put up a pic of your sweater so we can see?

Let us know how Batman went! Do tell all!

    Have a good day

Yes, yes! Jack Nicholson cannot be touched as the Joker. I watch "that" Batman just to laugh at his antics. What a ham!

"snap"! Dark Knight, I got it! A reference to the Batman Movie. I was working on my "Tunisian Entrelac Pot Holder" this morning when that amazing revelation came to me. I'm embarrassed to admit this but I am a little slow on the uptake when it comes to puns. I'm always, like, to my hubby, "Mick, I don't ged dit!" The in-laws love trying new jokes on me just to see how I'll do. Oh well, the truth is out! The world now knows. I don't get jokes! puns! subtle hints! This is what a persecution complex looks like. (giggling)

Oh, yeah. Good Morning. (shameful me)

Powerful acting, powerful action, huge IMAX sequences give this Batman a great big commanding feel. However, story is held hostage to action, especially in the second half.

Dark Knight was my favorite movie. I got chills from Heath's (R.I.P.) Joker. He researched the joker well. What people don't realize is that the Joker is a very cunning and intelligent sociopathic killer. I can hardly wait fot the DVD release. Hopefully Heath will get an Oscar posthumously.
