Happy Monday Indeed!

Tomorrow I will be going to FedEx to ship a box of goodies off to a yarn company!  In the past whenever I would ship off a big box of items I would stop at Sonic Drive-in on my way home to celebrate.  Then I discovered that it was happening multiple times a week and I was quickly outgrowing my jeans, and belts, and shoes (who knew?).  Now that I eat like a caveman...well, short of bonking a dinosaur over the head with a club my only option is to either stop at Starbuck's (which I do) or come home and toast a job well done with a brew of my own (coffee of course, what did you think I meant?).    Today however I came home to this:

I guess I'd better get my nose to the grindstone, eh?

"S" is for spring cleaning!

Over the weekend I decided that when I did a chore around the house I would go a few steps further and make it a spring cleaning.  So instead of just washing the windows around the courtyard I scrubbed all the window sills and frames too.  Instead of just watering the new plantings I went ahead and pruned all the old growth on the hibiscus, wisteria and decorative ginger.  Also, instead of filling the birdbath that I've had for a few years I noticed that it was starting to rust from age and went ahead and gave it a fresh coat of paint (a job that took all of fifteen minutes).  This spray paint dries to look like hammered metal so it catches the sunlight beautifully.

And here it is re-installed in the garden:

A Room With a View

I really love the new studio space.  I feel like my productivity has increased measurably and can't believe I waited so long to take the plunge and get at least the desk and bookcase.  I love that as I sit here and work I can look out the window into the backyard, enjoying a nice breeze.

More often than not though this is the view I have from my computer:

Again, I have stash envy. No wonder your studio can get messy; there are piles and piles of stash!

And as soon as we stop having record low temps here in MI I'll use your spring cleaning tip so I don't have to whoop myself all in one day.
