Felted, Shipped, but Not Packed
I just got back from shipping the last item that HAD to be shipped before leaving for San Diego. That's tomorrow btw, have I mentioned that I have two booksiginings this weekend at TNNA? Anywho, I realized that although I can't show the designs that I'm working on (except for the extreme closeups) I can in fact show you the yarn if the company has it on their website, right?
So far this yarn has felted the easiest for me. In fact, it felted nearly 50% which is quite a bit for crocheted items. In fact in fact, I had to do the project twice because I'm silly enough to assume that if that other company's 100% wool felts by a third, then this company's will too... and after some walking in circles and several calls to Crazy Aunt Purl declaring that this project has been a near death experience for me, I did in fact prevail and come up with a design that I was happy with. This isn't it, these are just closeups of the before felting and after felting. I wish I could get paid for crocheting neat little rectangles...
I was amazed at how well the yarn kept it's color! This stuff is great!! And please for the love of Melissaleapman do a swatch first to calculate how much the project will felt. I don't want you to have a near death felting experience like I did. Click here for more info: Felt-It by Caron

Anywho, I'm really just procrastinating because it's 3:17pm, I have four loads of laundry to do, the house to clean up, the projects that I need to work on to get ready, 15 pounds to lose, and getting it all packed for my morning flight. The Butler Called In Sick

I wish we could all jump in and help you but I know you can do it just fine. It will be so worth getting there and being at the big event. Best wishes to you and enjoy the trip.

i do swatches on any new yarn i'm washing to felt. i keep notes (mostly in my head, lol) and if i use the yarn again, i know what it's going to do. of course, this is with knitting, i don't usually felt my crochet, lol.
have a safe trip, and lossa fun!

I have never seen Felt-It before! It looks like a great yarn, and seems to come in some good colors...hmm...must...go...yarn...shopping...
Have fun on your trip! (And you can always get a good amount of crocheting, etc done while waiting for planes in the airport.)

I just got through reading "Men who knit and the dogs who love them" and I LOVE IT!!! I have both a husband and a beagle who are going to look very coordinated soon!! Have a great trip and thank you for such a great book!!

I didn't quite make that goal - 15 pounds in 24 hours is asking a bit too much. Especially since I apparently love eating. A lot!

I love how that yarn felted, very nice! Love how it kept color. I haven't been brave enough to felt.
Cleo seems to think it is incredibly funny! And too cute at the same time . .. gotta love the cats for that!

I saw the Caron Felt-it at JoAnn's a few weeks ago. I wondered how it felted. The colors stay very vibrant. I must now pick some up. Just what I needed. Thanks. LOL Enabler.
