The Rehydration of Drew

I've had myself on a rehydration schedule since landing in Houston.  In The Valley it was windy and dry, as in 3% humididity dry, and for a dude that is accustomed to 98% humididity there wasn't enough water to keep up as I slowly dried out.  So for now the kitchen timer goes off every 40 minutes and I drink a 12 oz glass of water.  I'm feeling better already!

The Weekend

I arrived Friday evening and Cray Aunt Purl  picked me up from the Burbank airport.  In the tradition of my arrival we went directly to In & Out, because that's what a burger's all about.  The rest of the weekend was spent shopping and putting up Christmas decorations and well, doing too many fun things to list here.   The weekend ended as usual after way too much wine, not near enough sleep, and a hot pair of jeans to wear on t.v.

Laurie & Drew on Ventura Blvd.

The Knitty Gritty

The producer of our episode was Stefanie and she made it all go so smoothly.  It's such a great feeling to know that the producer's got your back and that she is going to make sure that the everything is fantastic.  With a quick rehearsal on Monday we started Tuesday as the first show.  Annie demo'd the rasta hat in Act 1 and half of Act 2, then I demonstrated the matching dog sweater for the rest of Act 2 and all of Act 3.  We had four little dogs that modeled for us and they were amazing and I'm pretty sure will be the stars of the show once it aires.  So much cuteness.  It makes me want one.  Anywho, here are a few of the photos that illustrate the glamour and excitement of television:

That was so cool that you got to be there when Stephanie and Michael were there. The photo with the three of you was like a matching game.
Who is the cute oriental fellow?
Not that I was intentionally examining your thighs (ahem) but do your jeans have weaving on the inner side???

Cheryl meet Charles, Charles this is Cheryl.

Charles was an awesome Knitster on the show.  In case you haven't seen Knitty Gritty (some don't get DIY yet) they have three Knitsters that sit on a sofa in the background and work on the project that is being demonstrated.  Charles did a fantastic job working on the Rasta Hat!    Thanks Charles, you rock!

Stephanie and Michael were so much fun to get to know in person!  The producers kept us pretty busy but we did get a chance to visit for a while.  Did you match the book with the correct author?  LOL

I love these jeans that Crazy Aunt Purl helped me shop for.  The inside leg has two seams and that is what you were *ahem* noticing.  The back pockets have some great stitching on them though:

I had to rehydrate myself after I got back from a week in Las Vegas last year. I forget how spoiled I am living in Austin, with its no smoking in bars or restaurants. I just about died in Vegas (literally, terrible asthma). I was thirsty the whole time I was there, and for a few days after I got back. I don't think I'll need to go there again.

It's a very creepy feeling to be dehydrated; nothing seems quite right.  I'm better today but will continue on the 40 minute cycle at least through the weekend.

Too bad you are back in Houston already! I'm in San Diego, and enjoying the warm weather! I can't believe how nice it is here compared to Boston. It's very disconcerting knitting mittens on the beach.
