Stitch N What?
It only took 18 months a few thousands of hours of therapy but I finally went back to the local SnB (called HipKnitsHouston) last night. Last time I went I accidentally sat under a halogen spotlight and well I sweated a lot and I was nervous and my knitting skills were questionable and the person next to me was speaking two languages while simultaneously knitting lace on size negative 000 needles and I was so totally intimidated. Last night however I was confident with my knitting (did I tell you I have a knitting book coming out in January?) and although I kind of got trapped in the corner at least I wasn't under a spotlight and was smart enough to wear my Big Dog pullover that hid any traces of the recent hot flashes that I didn't think men went through and had a fantastic time! I did at least two rows of knitting on the sweater that I thought I could finish in Alaska in September and spent the rest of the time chatting (not me, I'm too shy). The cool part is that there were several other dudes there, knitting and crocheting, and everyone had a great time. I may in another 18 months. If my therapist thinks it's okay.

Hey I'm in that photo - I was knitting the sweater that looks like cat vomit. It was good to meet you yesterday, hopefully your therapy will work out and we'll see you again!

Therapy? Is it working? Good to see you get out of the house and mingle a big. (Not like you haven't been traveling ALL summer.)
A book? Really? Any other details? Any other famous people in it?? What kind of patterns? What's the ISBN? Hardcover? Due date? Answers?

Yipe! Only one correction: HipKnitHouston is only the name of the Yahoo! group, which happened because of the tiff over the Stitch 'n' Bitch name and legal threats to Yahoo!. Believe me: we're still 100% Stitch 'n' Bitch.

Hi Drew! I was the one sitting next to you who managed to get a major hole in her knitting. Luckily there were paramedics (otherwise known as experts) standing by! Thanks for being so entertaining for my first visit ever!

Next time you're under halogen, demand someone shoot infrared photos of you....it's very cool! The SNB looks like lots of fun!

Stick with the therapy, go to SnB again on some night when I'm actually there, too (and not home nursing a cold).

Damn, I need me a stitch n bitch. It looks like so much fun! It's amazing what therapy can help you do, eh? I left my Ph.D. program to pursue art thanks to my zillion hours in therapy- and I'll never look back!

I can't wait for your book to come out. I saw that you had one coming out the last time I was on Amazon looking around. No details though. You know you want to share details with us, sweetums. *grin*

You are fine. You are faboo and if anyone gives you any shit tell them a certain Otter will come after them. But yeah most knitters and crochters are nice so that really shouldn't be an issue.
