Thanks so much Drew,
Purl McBigBottom is a beauty and I will give her a try although I am a little rusty with knitting.
That was so special of Jazz Ritz to make up the bag so quickly so that we can get the pattern. Thank you for being so nice to share. You have put some new interest in knitting and crocheting! Thank you!

Oh goodie, an excuse to buy more needles! And what a wonderful excuse too.
Now, excuse me while I go check out my favorite online haunts for new supplies.

This is an awesome site Drew, I like it much better than the blogger site.

I've casted on to make this for my best friend. Hope nobody minds, but I'm going to change the name when I give it to her
I'm using a great chunky mossy handspun/handdyed wool.

Nice job Drew. The picture looks better too. Did you retake or was it the miracles of Photoshop?

Thanks for this great purse. I have a question on rows 8-11 wher you Purl 1, knit 1 through the back loop, are you increasing here? Purl the stitch & then knit through the back of that same stitch? I just need a little clarification. Thanks!
Drew: Hi Cristina, I'm so glad you like it! You purl 1, then knit 1 through the back loop of the following stitch, so you are not increasing. You are actually make a rib that isn't too stretchy by going through the back loop. It will twist the knit stitch and keep it a bit tighter. Send photos when you finished!!

Thanks Drew and Cristina - I was totally lost at the same part. I just kept going over and over in my head that it must be an increase row for the purse to be larger on the bottom then the top. I now realize you keep the same number of stitches and the draw string at the top is what causes the shape. Sometimes the lightbulb does turn on!!!

Help! It's past 11:34 pm here, but I just had to cast on for the McBigBottom. So I've cast on and now...we join, right? Do we join? I'm joining and working in rounds. I'm silly like that, I need my i's dotted and my t's crossed.
So I'm joining and working in rounds. Yes? It's ok to join, right?

You *did* say it is worked in the round, but I miss the instruction that says "Join, being careful not to twist"
